Education and Experience
Ms. Wechter is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 1991, a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work since 1988 and an A.C.S.W. since 1980. She holds a Master’s Degree in Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
Ms. Wechter maintains a Private Practice in St. Louis, Missouri since 1980, working with individuals, couples and families. She supervises psychotherapists and consults for agencies and schools. Since 1998, she has offered special services as a Wealth Counselor and Consultant to individuals, couples and families as well as attorneys, financial planners and money managers.
As an Adjunct Faculty member, Ms. Wechter taught courses at Webster University and the Brown School of Social Work at Washington University. She also served as a Clinical Supervisor in the Department of Psychiatry at Saint Louis University School of Medicine and on the Faculty of the Child Development Project of the St. Louis Psychoanalytic Institute.
Previous experience includes work as a Psychotherapist for: The Growth Center in St. Louis, MO, Quad City Mental Health Center in Granite City, IL and Jewish Family and Children's Service in St. Louis, MO. Early in her career, Ms. Wechter worked as a Production Assistant for Children's Television Workshop in New York City, NY, conducting research into children's learning patterns to be implemented into the new program Sesame Street.
Ms. Wechter participates in Ongoing Study Groups with peers and senior colleagues and maintains memberships and leadership positions in numerous Professional Organizations.
